Social media data for beginners

Harvest and analyse Twitter data using TAGS and Tableau.

This tutorial looks at how to extract data from Twitter with tools without the need for programming experience. The first stage uses TAGS to create a dataset of tweets. The second stage explores the new dataset with Tableau.

The tutorial is aimed towards graduate students and researchers interested in using social media data in their research but who are not yet experienced with coding or working with data.

TAGS is an nice entry-level tool to extract and develop an archive of Twitter data. All you need to get up and running is a Google and Twitter account.
